Why the London Yijing Meetup Group Online?

This is the first entry in our new blog

Tentatively, the next session of the London Yijing Meetup group will be:

Time: Thursday, October 26^th, 2023, from 19:00 to 20:30 London time

Format: Online, free, and open to all members of the the London Yijing Society Meetup group (go to Meetup.com and you can join free)

Topic: How to Form a Question for an Oracle Inquiry

So, why I am I involved in trying to keep this organization afloat? In the early 2000's, this was a “meet in person” group that met at pubs, once a month in London. Then Covid necessitated an online format, also once a month, but eventually shifted to once every other month. This came to an end in early 2023 when the group's organizer, who hosted most of the meet ups, stepped back temporarily from the group. So far as I know, the in-person sessions have not resumed.

When these sessions became available online in 2019, it allowed all of us who do not live in the London area to participate. During the past four years I have hosted presentations on various topics a few times, and offered to act as co-organizer.

I now plan to host three presentations each year. One of those sessions will be a repeat of my “Introduction to the Fundamental Aspects of Change', as I endeavor to expand our small circle of Yixue students who are learning to interpret oracle responses with this new method.

Other presentations and/or collaboration are always welcome. I am happy to dialogue with members about their ideas, but at this time, I cannot personally commit to preparing more than three events each year. I also encourage any member to comment here with questions or comments that can be shared among us on this blog. I am also happy to consider posting appropriate things members have written on this blog site, as we begin to use this space to inform each other.
